You may have heard of the term ‘superfood’ but what does it actually mean? Can a single food be a magic bullet? I’m afraid there is no official definition of a superfood. In fact, the EU has banned the use of the term on packaging. If you Google the term you will find lists of foods deemed superior. No food can compensate for an unhealthy diet. If your diet is saturated with processed foods high in fat and sugar, a superfood will not undo the damage. If you’re committed to eating a healthy diet, it’s best not to concentrate on a single food. If you’re looking to eat a healthy diet, choose any unprocessed foods.
